Thomas Armbrecht

Thomas Armbrecht

Tom has a PhD in French Studies from Brown University. Formerly a tenured Professor of French, he taught literature and philosophy to both undergraduate and graduate students at an R1 university before focusing his career on Instructional Design. Tom has been involved in educational technology since its inception. He is the principal designer for the Moving Beyond Trauma course series.

Jenna Lynn Epstein

Jenna Lynn Epstein

Jenna is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC), Approved Clinical Supervisor (ACS), and former School Counselor. She specializes in working with children, adolescents, and adults with complex trauma backgrounds through Trauma-Focused CBT and EMDR therapies and is one of the SHARE subject matter experts for the Moving Beyond Trauma course series.

Mary Jane Pearson Ph.D.

Mary Jane Pearson

Mary Jane Pearson, Ph.D., has been involved in teacher education for more than 30 years. Her unique credentials as a teacher educator include chairing the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CCTC), the largest educator licensing agency in the U.S. During her nine-year tenure as a commissioner, she co-authored the research on beginning teacher support and assessment that has become the worldwide standard for the support of new teachers, the Beginning Teacher Support & Assessment Induction Program (BTSA). In addition, she was appointed by the U.S. President to serve as the regional representative for the U.S. Department of Education. In recognition of her service to education, Mary Jane was named California Teacher Educator of the Year. In addition, Mary Jane lead the development of a highly-sought-after master’s degree that featured a concentration in trauma-informed practices and how to foster resilience in children who have experienced trauma and in teachers who have experienced both trauma and Secondary Traumatic Stress.

Patrick Garrett York

Patrick Garrett York

Patrick is co-leading SHARE and has served as the head of Learning Design, overseeing teams of designers, developers, subject matter experts to create educational products and online curriculum. Patrick’s work in education has included teaching in person and online as well as collaborating with educators to create distance education programs. His goal is to foster community growth by creating digital opportunities for people to be active participants in their own and each others learning.
